Toronto Pearson (the GTAA) does provide an application form for a Passenger Gate Escort for departures only. However, your airline and Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) work cooperatively to manage the process of this escort. The escort pass permits one person to accompany the traveller(s) into the gate area (excluding USA departures due to customs processes) upon request.

The escort must provide valid government-issued photo identification and will also be required to be processed through security screening. Although the GTAA provides the forms to the airline, it is the airline’s responsibility to administer the form. This is done only on the actual departure day and is at the discretion of your airline. At the time of check in with the airline, you will need to request permission to enter the gate area as an escort. Airlines are not obligated to permit the escort, and may deny based on their own procedures.
